On a cold windy day at Murray Parkway golf course, the Skyline Eagles won the first region tournament by 5 strokes over Olympus and the rest of region 6. Skyline shot a 342 for first place, Olympus shot 347 for second. Murray a 392 for third, Highland a 407 for fourth, Cottonwood a 409 for fifth. Brighton shot 414 for sixth, East high shot 416 for seventh, and Hillcrest a 454 for eighth. Skyline was led by freshman Ashley Lam with 4 birdies and a 1 under par 71, In her first varsity Tournament Ashley took first and helped lead the Eagles to the victory. Gwen Poelman had a birdie and shot an 86, Laurel Iorg shot 92, Claire Keller a 93, Tegan Halloran a 96 in her first varsity tournament. Senior captain Avery Neville shot a 97, Avery Kraatz shot a 101 in her first tournament, Kelsie Kruckenberg shot a 104 in her first appearance in the varsity lineup. A great day for the young talented Eagles, as they opened the season with the victory.
