Skyline won the Region Championship at Hubbard golf course on Hill Air Force Base in Layton Utah. Cold and windy conditions in the morning made it tough the first hour, it eventually warmed up and was nice. Skyline shot a 2 over 290 to win by 13 strokes and win every tournament this season. The Eagles for the first time shot over par, but was it was still good enough to win by 13 strokes. Brighton was second with a 303, Olympus third with a 311, Highland and Cottonwood shot 320’s to tie for fourth place. East High took sixth with a 332, Murray seventh with a 336, and Hillcrest took eighth with a 365. Skyline dominated the top 10 in region with seven in the top 10, including the top 6. Tyson Shelley shot a 6 under 66 on his way to the Region Medalist. Simon Kwon shot a 73 and finished third in the region. Peter Kim shot a 75 and finished second in the Region. Joseph Kim shot a 76 and finished fourth in the Region. Abe Thomas shot a 76 and finished tenth in the Region. Charlie Thomas also shot a 78 and finished a very good season finishing in the top 16. Spencer Clayton shot a 78 to finish fifth in the Region. Sean Lam shot 80 to finish sixth in the Region. A great season for the Skyline Eagles led by senior Abe Thomas, and juniors Tyson Shelley, Simon Kwon and Joseph Kim. The Eagles are hoping for a good performance at State next week and another State Title.
